EVGA cards are riddled with temp probes. The GPU, each memory module, each power supply. The Nvidia firmware won't throttle until the GPU passed 90c and by then you're already in the danger zone, especially for the high overclock on an EVGA card. The EVGA software has a tunable temperature curve but a lot of users don't install the tuning software. IDK about you but when it comes to my computers I'm a control freak. Some people just want to turn it on and have it work. They should sell their computer and buy a console IMO.

Yes and yes. Also both the Nvidia software and the EVGA software have a frame rate limiter setting. That should always be locked to your monitor refresh rate unless you're Benchmarking. The EVGA software also has a tunable temperature curve where it will start underclocking the GPU if it gets too hot. So many safeguards but you have to know about them. EVGA makes really good cards. My 2080 had been mining Ethereum 24/7 for over 18 months with a +700Mhz memory overclock, except the occasional times that I'm gaming on it instead. Never had a heat issue, but it's a 3 fan card and I have 7 fans in my case.
