You forgot myspace. Unfiltered access to myspace (and for me Slashdot (I'm actually at work as I write this)) is also critical.

I'm a home hobbyist (hardware, OS, and networking specifically) with two PCs. One runs MS WinXP Pro (SP2, naturally), the other runs SuSe 10.0 (I want to get an Apple laptop but they're so expensive). The WinXP and SuSe boxes do stuff like file/printer sharing with each other. Hence, I'm a cross platform compatiblity stickler; if it's not cross platform compatible, I won't even consider it (like ITunes for example, with it's stupid AAC format). So I'm a big fan of things like the mp3 format and Open Office. Before anyone asks, I do prefer SuSe over WinXP.

The only difference between a car salesman and a computer salesman is that the car salesman knows he's lying.
