Sort of off topic, but there never seems to be accompanying reports of sonic booms when objects like this are spotted moving at impossible speeds and demonstrate "...capabilities that seem to outstrip all known human aircraft..." Either these objects are an illusion of earthly origin or they are real and do not displace air when moving. Assuming the second option is the correct one what interesting hypothesis can be dreamed up about how these objects might be propelled?

I have developed apps for the TC51 and strangely there are not that many rugged android devices out there with integrated scanners, good ones anyway with well designed and documented libraries for getting scanner input (data wedge wasn't feasible). Even though the the OS is the same on different devices the libraries are proprietary, so switching between vendors is not as easy as you would think.

Funny, I just got a call from my AT&T datacenter rep, apparently he needs to raise our monthly fees.

I work for a small company that provides specialized services to large corporations (saas). I cannot count how many times we have been close to closing a deal with new customer when at the last minute they have to "run it by IT". The typical response from IT is "...we can build that...". Which really means the dude who runs the IT views any external technology as some kind of threat to his empire. Occasionaly we come across an IT dept that will take the time to make a reasonable assessment followed by a security audit and when that happesn we usually get the deal. For us the ideal scenerio is avoiding IT altogether.

I would think a company like Apple would respond differently to political pressure. Checkpoints to begin with skirt a fine line with the 4th amendment, being stopped by the police for no reason so they can observe you up-close and perform an interrogation. The last time I went through one of those things there must have been about 20 or 30 cops standing around. I would think having those guys driving around looking for erratic drivers would be a better use of resources.

I wonder if those jerk-off cops know there is a good chance the video is recoverable.
