Starting in January I will be going for my MCAD certification in VB.Net. I'm planning on taking up to two months to prepare for each test, maybe longer. More updates about this to come.

Starting tonight I will be participating in a 6 night class on C#.Net. Should be interesting.

Since I last updated my journal I've taken my old Win95 box and installed Redhat 7.2 (P-166, 24MB RAM, about 6G of disk space)
I run it mainly in console mode, but I can run X with WindowMaker.

After about a year's absence (due to buying a new pc running Win XP pro) I have Linux running on my system again. It's a distribution called Topologi-linux, based on Slackware 8. Call me a coward, I didn't want to repartition my hard drive, not with Win XP, so I opted for a distro that would run on top of it. One gotcha was that I have a Lucent win modem, so I had to download the driver source and compile and install it. Once I did that though everything worked great and I can get on

Well I now have a house with a rather large in ground pool. I've never owned a pool before, so I guess this summer will be interesting. My brother-in-law came up with the idea of getting a radio controlled boat and playing with it in the pool. I like that idea. Time to investigate!

I love my Palm 3! I've had it for about 4 years now, and I still use it as much today as I did back then. I don't use it so much as an organizer as I do as a real handy (pun intended) way to get information from the internet, or for reading e-books. I synch up every morning with Avantgo where I subscribe to about 5 channels, (Sci-Fi Channel, CNet, CNN, Weather Channel, and Space.Com). I do use the reminders for appointments and I keep phone numbers on it. What a fantastic little device!
