Comment Re:Telecommuting FTW (Score 2) 163

Telecommuter here as well and it is so, so worth it. With mostly everyone and their grandmother having a decent Internet connection, it doesn't make sense to have to sit in hours of traffic just to get to work. Granted, some places need a warm body on site, but if you can telecommute even for a few days, I highly recommend it. If you want to sit at home and fuck off all day, telecommuting is not for you. If you have a shred of self-discipline (as mentioned above), you can definitely be successful at it.

During the last few years I've regained my sanity and have become a more productive worker due to not having to put up with the distractions of sitting in a 'normal' workspace. Not to mention the hours saved sitting in traffic and the flexibility to pick up the kids, run errands, etc..

I was looking forward to the story but when I saw things like smiley faces and the current mood=devious junk, I'm doubting this cat was really a spook. No way would someone put that kind of gibberish in a presentation unless, of course, it was presented to his office buddies who probably got a kick out of it. No way a 4-star would be looking at some hand-scribbled, 2nd grade inspired drawing.

I'm sure CR makes a ton of money from reviewing dishwashers and lawn mowers for the old folks crowd. The grandma in Iowa doesn't care about video cards and nor does the majority of the public. Now if Nvidia would quit it with their paper launch and actually supply these new cards I'd love to buy one!

What a piece of work that guy is. Hopefully he ends up in prison for larceny. As a Craigslist seller, it's a real pain to sift through the real potential buyers and scumbags like this. You can kind of smell the scammers a mile away, but I can see how not-so-educated people (in the Internet sense) could fall for their tricks.

I agree, 2-3 hours is beyond ridiculous. It's gotten to the point where I have to leave the house 4 hours before my flight, throw in a 45 minute ride to the airport, hop on the shuttle and get to the gate with 3 hours to go. It's a huge time waster. I miss the days of walking right up to the terminal.

That happened to me at BWI a few months ago. The line was super long, stretching down a long hallway. As I got closer to the front, the TSA folks were randomly pulling people through the fast checkout line. I got selected and rolled through without taking my shoes or belt off. From that day forward, I bought the precheck. Yeah, I know I'm a sucker, but the convenience and time saved is well worth 85$ every 5 years.

I took the family to see the movie and it was entertaining. Every time I saw the commercial, I kept thinking they needed to have this movie come out 3-4 years ago when the Angry Birds craze was at its zenith. If the movie would have come out then, they would have made a ton (more) money. I guess since it's been in the works for 4 years it was way too far done to cancel it.
