What do you enginners think about asymmetric multicore processors like STI's Cell? It's benefits worth the extra complexity in programming it or not? Does Intel has any plans to design something like that?

What about Sun approach of using tens of simple processors (I refer to the Niagara project)?

Will mainstream Intel processors follow one of the mentioned approaches, or you think Intel's approach of using less-but-more-powerful symmetrical cores is the right one?
