Comment Looking at the patterns can be revealing (Score 1) 50

I had problems with a local medical practice in the US. Crazy, weird stuff, but never mind. After several weeks of trying to deal with these people, I looked them up in Google reviews on a whim. Dozens of glowing 5 star reviews. A handful of really negative ones. The positive ones were short, sometimes not even a complete sentence, and had little detail. Most could have referred to a hot dog stand instead of a medical practice with exactly the same review. It is also seems unlikely the clinic had as many current patients as there were 5 star reviewers. The negative reviews were long, went into lengths about the problems with these idiots, and agreed pretty much with my own experience. That was part of what convinced me to cut my losses and get a different referral. It seems to me that its reasonable to use a lot of clearly astroturfed 5 star reviews as a negative checkmark against a company. If they're paying money to BS you, it may be better to avoid them.
