we should also try to get rid of the non-free firmware code included within the Linux project. 'Pragmatic' Linus is somewhat short-sighted here in my view with his "best-tool" approach.

Richard Stallman and Bdale Garbee (the current Debian project leader) and others have already mentioned these important legal problems.
