All the stories I've heard from friends, family members and colleagues that worked with or interacted with him professionally boil down to, "he was a dick to me" or "he was a dick to me but less of a dick than he was to other people and this makes me blind to his dickishness"

BcNexus writes "According to the Associated Press, a California judge has ruled that a lawsuit brought against the Target Corporation may proceed under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The catch here is that the suit, leveled by the National Federation of the Blind, concerns the design of Target's website. Could this set a precedent and subsequent flood of lawsuits against websites? What if another design is not tractable?" From the article: "'What this means is that any place of business that provides services, such as the opportunity to buy products on a website, is now, a place of accommodation and therefore falls under the ADA,' said Kathy Wahlbin, Mindshare's Director of User Experience and expert on accessibility. 'The good news is that being compliant is not difficult nor is it expensive. And it provides the additional benefit of making accessible web sites easier for search engines to find and prioritize.'"

An anonymous reader writes "Tom Giovanetti, president of the Dallas, Texas based public policy think tank Institute for Policy Innovation envisions a chaotic world as a result of Net Neutrality. He says a flood of undiscriminated traffic to and from Youtube, Coldplay, and Victoria's Secret will bring down the Internet, leading to failures of IPTV, VOIP, and emergency services which depend on VOIP. Is he right or wrong?." From the article: "... government should be about fostering a dynamic and risk-taking economy, not preserving the certainty of anyone's business models. Net neutrality regulations would severely restrict broadband providers' right to enter into contracts and to try new business models while protecting the business models of Google and Ebay." I seem to remember Crazy Taxi 2 being nothing but advertising. "Take me to Kentucky Fried Chicken" they would say. Or "I need to go to the Levi's Store." The first game was great and the second one was all right, but there was still a lot of advertising in both games.

I suppose I have a story of my own too. I had to go to a wedding once that was a mix of geek representatives from across the geek continuum. Some oldies, some newbies. Cosplayers, an R2-D2 ringbearer (poor kid!), off-season ren-fair workers and the obligatory contingent of Star Trekkies (among others). The wedding service was delivered simultaneously in:
