While agree that the PMBOK is an excellent starting point (I teach PM using it), its only a book of guiding principles... its not an actual PM process or methodology. While I don't think the book that was featured in the original article is necessarily a true methodology either - its one step closer to the actual "what-to-do" steps vs. a high-level set of guiding principles, inputs and outputs to processes.
