Twitter knocked the community driven livestreaming platform Meerkat out very shortly after purchasing Periscope. Meerkat was HUGE when it was around and Periscope basically pulled a Microsoft on them. Now that they've done basically nothing with Periscope for years, they're killing it (well, not killing but integrating?). There's really no direction with the platform. Anyway, the livestreaming market is only getting bigger. I'm excited to see what's to come with it next year.

In other news, physical door locks have been called on to be outlawed. In an interview, representatives from Five Eyes said this: "We must protect the children. We are calling on all citizens to keep their doors unlocked at night so we can come in at will to ensure their children are safe in their beds."

Will be interesting to see what (if any) comments Mr. Torvalds has to say about the quality of these patches.

It is a sad day indeed when steps are taken to limit the decentralization of a worldwide network like the Internet. I would have to assume the next steps will include a big, beautiful American Internet firewall.

I have always been of the opinion that U.S. presidential elections are overproduced. I would like to see nothing more than the facts, the claims of future duty to the country and no fluff from any participant or coordinator.

It's a sad state of affairs when one must break into another's computer network to "steal" research data in order to advance a vaccine or otherwise help the fight against a worldwide health crisis.

In the end, the stupidity, ignorance and greed of those with the most money and power will have extinguished life for everyone.

Very strange time we live in. How do we define art when its categorically artificial that created it? Is this any different than synthesized drums, a digital guitar effects pedal?

I watched it with my 2 young kids, one episode a night right before bed. We literally finished 2 nights ago. Hands down best animated series I've ever seen, and the kiddos loved it too. My favorite character was Katara, both my kids' were Saka (go figure, they're both goofballs). Apparently there's a lot more to the series too. Comic books, a live action movie, a second animated series by the original creators.. I can't wait to dig into them. Avatar state, yip-yip!
