It's important to me to have a job that I enjoy, and a company that I enjoy working for. But let's be serious here: If the job (and the issues relating to it) is the same, but the pay is more, I'd be an idiot to stay with the low-paying one. 3 Months ago I was a full-time employee doing the same job I do now, making $32K. I worked for an appalling harpy, and put up with a TON of garbage a day, on a routine basis, all the while being urged to work longer and harder, to get down that mystical "Road to Six Figures" (that's actually in the employee handbook). So one day about a month ago, I quit. Walked out. No new job in sight, nothing. 2 weeks later I got offered a contract -- doing the same basic type of work -- for $50/hour. I guess the Road to Six Figures started just outside the door of the other company.
So what does this mean? IMHO, where salary is concerned, size DEFINATELY matters!
