I'm not seeing any benefits, only costs. I'm seeing people disarmed by their government and no reduction in crime. If there were a reduction then the Brady Campaign, and organizations like it would not have to resort to tortured statistics to make their case.

I'm curious, how do you quantify a completely screwed up moral compass? How does it not occur to you that there is a strong negative sociological impact to celebrating good citizens playing judge jury and executioner? By doing that, literally, your culture is sending the message that life is so worthless that just anyone can dispose of someone else's life if they feel like it's justified. Then *gasp*, you're surprised that people resort to violence and go on shooting sprees when they decide that society wronged them and you will blame it on just about everything except the root cause. In your country, shooting people is fine. In your country, shooting people is fine. In your country, shooting people is fine. That's the real defining difference. There are inequalities, mental issues, yada yada everywhere. Americans are unique in their lack of value towards human life and how good citizens shooting other citizens is a thing.

Our gun violence problem in the US is not due to civilian access to firearms. Various social and political failures are the cause.

In your culture, "good people" playing judge jury and executioner by shooting other people is something that is celebrated, worshiped, even fantasized about. Life is not valued in the United States. As long as you wont recognize that this completely screws up your country's moral compass and that this plays a great role in "bad people" thinking it's fine to go on a righteous shooting spree when they feel wronged, you will remain stuck with that problem.

Mojang has flirted with the idea of a plugin marketplace before and with the idea that plugin developers could make money off them : http://notch.tumblr.com/post/4... Minecraft still doesn't have an official API. As far as we know, it is still in the works. It may VERY well be that Microsoft is planning to make a plugin marketplace from which they plan to make a certain percentage of profit on all plugin sales. This is the only thing that makes sense to me.
