Thanks, that is really interesting stuff. I didn't mean to give the impression that my car was built for competition. It is actually my daily driver and was built little by little over the last three or four years purely as a hobby. The only "racing" that I really do is the so-called "street racing".....stop light to stop light sprints, highway runs, etc. While I would like to get into autocross, I just simply don't have the time to devote to it that it would take to be any kind of a contender. However, a close friend of mine is in the process of building an 88 Formula Firebird for autocross....he is quite a capable driver so hopefully he'll do well at it.
You are right, speed limits are annoying, but I generally regard them as a suggestion rather than a rule. ;-) Yes, fuel prices are rediculous here, and they gouge the wallet even more when you have to feed a gas guzzler like mine, but so be it....you only live once and I take my little pleasures where I can find them. :-)
Oh, and about the roads...I've always heard the roads in Europe were less than desirable and I'm sure that American roads are better by comparison, but truth be known, there are really terrible roads here as well...rough railroad tracks, potholes, etc. In fact, I once had a tire to get cut on a pothole.
Anyway, thanks for the info and discussion. Take care.
