Imagine if the universe had a shell. The shell is past the distance we can see. The outside of this shell is gravitationally downward. (maybe imagine a charged metal shpere, place a positively charged particle in the middle, and it will "fall" toward the shell) We would see everything accelerating toward that shell. So, I'm saying, what if the universe is expanding toward something larger outside it. Could this explain dark energy?
