Journal Pirogoeth's Journal: KoC: Turning the Tables 7

I must have bolstered up my defense enough yesterday that nobody tried to nail me in my sleep. I awoke to 32,000 in gold that I had amassed overnight.

To celebrate, I bought myself some nice new weaponry and did unto somebody else as I had been done unto yesterday morning to the tune of 20,000 in gold!

Whoever mentioned that attacking someone with similar numbers to you nets you more gold, I think you may be correct...

And of course, dont forget, please click on my link as well as some of these!

  • I finally got my D up to be able to handle any attack under 20k. Some douche attacked me 4 times until I got a low roll, and stole 20k, then I got attacked by people with 30k-60k attacks to drain the rest (I generate about 10k per turn). Alas, I'm working solely on D for a while.
    • Yeah, I see you've surrounded yourself with rabid pitbulls...
    • I'm baldass newbie's brother, and I'd like to share some tips regarding KOC. I wouldn't concern myself with D too much in the early going. Concentrate on Offense, both weapons and seige capabilities. Do not worry about the guy stealing 65K from you overnight. Keep amassing weapons and in a few days or weeks you'll be like Alex in "A Clockwork Orange," plucking the pretty polly off of the trees. You will be able to take 150K to 1mil+ per attack. Then you can build your defenses at leisure. Don't comple
      • I've been seesawing back and forth between O and D. Right now I'm working on the O again so I can start hitting some of the plums I see above me.

Do people really keep 1,000,000 just laying around?
        • well, with 300 troops, you generate over 10k per turn, so if someone had, say, 30k troops, you could hit 1,000,000 real easy (and what if someone was working on saving for the 'hand of god' fortification (which is over 1billion gold).
        • After time passes, and armies get larger(very large) and if you get up a little early yes. Also, hitting people when they are in the middle of "cleansing" someone else. Hitting then spending is the key when the money is big.
  • I read over in mekkab's JE where someone mentioned that army size matters. So I decided to test it this morning. I took my 39 humans and attacked an army of 153 elves that were ranked below me.

I whomped him and walked away with 25k+ instead of the 7.5k that I was averaging before.

There was much rejoicing in the camp of Nid.

All great ideas are controversial, or have been at one time.
