His experience is that contention and file-system-overhead issues within Windows limits 1 GE desktop links to 1.25 Mbps. Even a quad-processor server peaks at 250 to 300 Mbps, with the processor at 100% usage."

So if we cant use the extra bandwidth then whats the point of having it. You can already get 100 Mbps dedicated from a switch to the desktop with old technology
