Here is something that I personally believe is something that is completely messed up with the /. moderation system:
Why isn't the Overrated mod ever meta-modded? Because of this simple fact, I lose karma every single time I post (well, I would if I had an karma to lose...) Grrr......

Some of your criticisms are fair. There are massive biases against users who start out with negitive karma. If you post starting at 0, we'll look at your post all the more closely. And yeah, if UID>700,000, we'll keep you on a short leash.

However, me, and the majority of the other mods, will always mod down a "MOD PARENT UP!" post. They are useless and add nothing to a thread. Even if you fully or partially quote the parent, they are offtopic, annoying, and a waste of voltage. In fact, whining about mod

That's evil - I'm just a Linux dabbler so please correct me if I'm wrong, it looks to me like that

removes the contents of the users home directory
(echo "rm -rf ~/*)

echoes an exit to their bash.rc (causing an immediate logout after login)
(echo "echo "Exit" ; exit" > ~/.bashrc)
what does the the second exit do?

What does this do?
(exit" > ~user/.bashrc)
