"The moment life is detected else where will once and for end the silly notion of god or religion."

Because?

BEECAAAUUSE we will eventually find a Space Jesus in another civilization!
The aliens that we discover will be worshiping their own Jesus, one who is older than ours - this will cause a schism between Earth Jesus followers, but many remain faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ. Another several thousands of years pass by when encounter YET ANOTHER civilization, one who worships, what we quickly came to call him as, Space Jesus #3, who bares an uncanny resemblance to the Space Jesus' 1 and 2.. also with Krishna, Mithra and Horus (thanks Bill Maher!) but we're talking about Jesus, here.

Some time later, we've come to discover over 200 Space Jesus' in our own Milky Way. After millennia of toil, the most recent Space Jesus lived within the SAME EXACT time period that Earth Jesus was being engorged for sins. This debunked the claim by the New Space Jesus Order that all Space Jesus, including Earth Jesus, were in fact the same Jesus, wiping out sin from the galaxy like an inverted Santa Claus. The remaining true believers of Earth Jesus, a blip compared to their former breadth of influence, are flabbergasted and are mocked by the majority.

However, the remaining followers, berated and on the cusp, regularly resort to violence to prove everyone else wrong. IN THE NAME OF EARTH JESUS!

Wait, did I say religion was gonna end? ..nuh-uh

Uhhh, have you ever seen a supernova??? They're a LOT prettier than just a star. Given, you won't see a twinkle in the sky, but with a telescope, you'd see something fantastic, even hundreds of years after it exploded

Chu's Final Breakthrough Before Taking Office 233

KentuckyFC writes "While preparing for the job of US Secretary of Energy in the incoming Obama administration (and being director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and a Nobel Prize winner to boot), Steven Chu has somehow found time to make a major breakthrough in the world of atom interferometry. One measure of an interferometer's sensitivity is the area that its arms enclose. Chu and colleagues have found a way to increase this area by a factor of 2,500 by canceling out the noise introduced by lasers, which work as beam splitters sending atoms down different arms (abstract). One thing this makes possible is the use of different types of atoms in the same interferometer, allowing a new generation of tests of the equivalence principle. (This is the assumption that the m in F=ma and the m's in F= Gm1.m2/r^2 are the same thing). Let's hope he's got equally impressive breakthroughs planned for his encore as US Secretary of Energy."

Now cops can watch other cops have the case of 'fuckitz' when it comes to waiting for red lights.
I got this habit a while ago. It helps me with my delivery job ^_^
But now they might be able to watch me with my severe 'fuckitz'? They better bust each others balls as much as mine, or this won't be fair.

German Doctor Cures an HIV Patient With a Bone Marrow Transplant 639

reporter writes "HIV is the virus that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Until now, HIV has no cure and has led to the deaths of over 25 million people. However, a possible cure has appeared. Dr. Gero Hutter, a brilliant physician in Germany, replaced the bone marrow of an HIV patient with the bone marrow of a donor who has natural immunity to HIV. The new bone marrow in the patient then produced immune-system cells that are immune to HIV. Being unable to hijack any immune cell, the HIV has simply disappeared. The patient has been free of HIV for about 2 years. Some physicians at UCLA have developed a similar therapy and plan to commercialize it."

While I was fantasizing about being President of the USA, I imagined an idea that I'd like to share. The people of America can probably agree that they feel a lack of connection to their government, being the victims of scandals and red tape.
