I love the sound, I love the smell, of rain on a thatched roof. I love the way humidity here pervades everything. I even enjoy this kind of loneliness, once in a while.

Dusk; and rain
dropping onto the thatched roof
Not with a splat
but with a soft sphlit
does the roof welcome the rain
As a worker welcomes
honest labor:
brother, let me
practice my art.
The smell of wet thatch
