Arrogance in the face of complexity (Score 2)

New languages and methods always have the advantage over older ones that the big old spaghetti projects written in the newer language with the new method do not exist yet.

The problem is right here:
> opting to cram an enormous amount of unnecessary complexity

Doesn't matter which language is used - as complexity goes up so does the bugginess and new features are increasingly difficult to get working.

This, together with that nobody wants to admit when they think the system becomes too complex, afraid to look stupid.
