The RPG 'license' debate has been flowing fairly freely for a while now. I remember having seen TSR shut down a couple of large repositories of AD&D based material claiming copyright infringement. I always thought that was kind of odd when half of what they published was information on how to create your own stuff. Fanfic strikes me as living in the same genre... I know I have often written or at least thought out alternate plot twists to my favorite books/comics/movies/tv shows what have you... and even occasionaly posted them for the enjoyment of like minded individuals who also like to speculate about what might have been. Done with this intent in mind i fail to see why a company or author would be displeased by this. Now as to the question of revenues or whatever as far as I see it if nobody's selling the fan-fic then no harm done. I will admit to having seen a number of adolescent fantasies played out in fan-fic in fact I would even go so far as to say that that would encompass the majority of what I have seen, but again I do not see such things as harming the origonal product, the're just bad fan-fic.
