Otter's Journal: Is there a way to access iTMS without iTunes?

As part of my continuing too-cheap-to-get-broadband-at-home saga -- is there a way to buy from the iTunes Store without using iTunes? I'd like to buy at work and avoid dl'ing over dialup, but I can't install iTunes without Administrator priviliges.

I can take a look at what can be done to put iTunes onto a computer without admin privs. You might be able to use it without a real install, as long as a recent version of QuickTime in installed.

There's always "broker" method - have a friend buy them for you and send them to you. This could work legally (give 'em access to your account) or otherwise (JHYMN).

Side question: How far outside of acceptable use are you willing to go to get iTunes installed?

Ethically, I have no problem with giving Apple money through a moderately unorthodox route. Pragmatically, jeopardizing my job by running some "DVD Jon hacker tool" in my work account to avoid paying for DSL at home doesn't strike me as cost-effective.

If I purchase an album (single tracks I can handle over dialup, since it's not like I want American Pie or In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, anyway), and can't get the download done in one chunk, will iTMS let me pick it up the next day?

To tell the truth, I have no idea. That would be a very useful feature if it did though.
