An artificial womb took long enough to create, most likely because of lack of necessity compared to other things. Now all we need is artifical ovum and artifical sperm, so we can have a completely artificial organism. Too bad the ethics nazis would likely lobby to prevent this, but hopefully private industry could achieve an artificial organism somewhere...
