Hope someone already mentioned this in one of the threads, but Nvidia has combined ARM (64) with their GPU/Tensor Processors etc for some years, now, eh?
Does the Tegra series of chips and Jetson SOMs ring a bell?
Canâ(TM)t imagine that Iâ(TM)m the only
/. grazer whoâ(TM)s a developer for the Jetson Xavier embedded systems (etc), centered around Ubuntu for the Intel/AMD SDK host and their nano, Xavier NX, and AGX Xavier.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
The NX and AGX easily out compute my oldish i7 XPS 9560 (Nvidia SDK host).
Apple has probably learned a thing or three from them that could improve their integration of neural net chips with ARM cores (or re-design iMacs and Mac Minis). My 2019 i9 MacBook now seems more like a triumph of style over function by comparison, even when the object isnâ(TM)t edge AI development, scientific computing, or robotics.
On the other hand, considering the Apple and Nvidia ârivalryâ(TM), maybe not so much learned to developersâ(TM) benefit? Youâ(TM)re not going to see a Tesla or AMP GPU in Mac Pro. Being a successful Apple iOS developer has been a stone grind; Nvidia and Jetson have made dev fun again!
