Journal Journal: Got another crazy T-Com Invoice
Uhm! Just another rant about the state of Croatian telecommunication market
Just got another crazy T-Com Invoice for my Croatian residence ADSL.
My DSL plan over here is volume based (80 HRK monthly fee + 20 HRK each GB of transferred IP Traffic).
So, I (supposedly) used up 28 GB of IP Volume (note to me: activate IP Accounting and install RRD for IP Volume statistics/accounting) totaling 740 HRK (around 100 EUR or 132 USD). And all of this for a mere 1mbps(down)/192kbps(up) DSL Line, no P2P, no Skype, usual slashdottin' and youtubin'.
At my German residence I have an DSL flat-rate plan from Freenet at 16mbps(down)/1mbps(up) DSL Line for monthly 28 EUR (or 36 USD) total.
So much about the "Croatian Way" to bring "Europe to the people".
Note that Croatian Telekom was sold to German DTAG a few years ago. So most of the profits made by this ripoff are going to the "mother" company in Germany.
Also, note that Croatian Telekom already had a very good (monopolistic) National and Metropolitan optical network and fully developed National (semi-monopolistic) ISP in the moment of selling. So no significant investments for the "mother" here.
Well, so much for now
