Do we not want innovation?

Private money and ego, because it does take ego, have helped push so many boundaries and produced many times their wealth in societal improvements.

We cannot know what will come about in 20 years because they are helping to push space technology and innovation forward faster than governments and complacent hold-overs ever dreamed.

We should be applauding and encouraging their efforts, not whining out of jealousy.

China is in a good position for this too, it has the virus under control at home and will be vaccinating people as needed. The West will mostly be using the vaccine to try to regain control. As such China should be able to spare quite a lot to give away.

China has it under control? Via what metrics that are accurate and based on reality?

Of course, being able to deposit a check at home is far less convenient than getting in the car, weaving through traffic, waiting in line (or parking) for a teller and then driving back home.

Or... Just maybe... Most people are better able to take care of small "transactions" themselves more directly than having to rely on multiple other people.

Missing the point completely.

Many of our laws have a philosophical underpinning that we should strive to replicate in our private lives. Otherwise you start to lose respect for those laws and try to overturn them. A prime example is free speech and the many efforts to shrink and limit the protections afforded by the 1A (e.g. hate speech

So if they want the option of a camera, but for limited time frames and specific questions, this is an interesting solution.

The camera is blocked when not in operation.

It makes noise when operating, so no surprises that it's on (even if hacked).

So why is the FBI at fault here?

They warned of "potential" hacking.

Do they really need to use "alarming" language for IT professionals, including the IT director, to understand the ramifications of being hacked?

Did they have evidence of the DNC being hacked, but did not reveal it? That would be a problem, but otherwise, I'm not seeing the issue here.

And even if that were true, anyone trying to forcefully disarm someone that has done nothing wrong is exhibiting zero common sense and asking to be shot.

He should not have been there, but that actually has nothing to do with his self-defense claims.
