Actually, I can already do this with my Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. It's a basic 2G phone with WiFi. Since it's 2G, I don't pay for data services. Yet I have access to high-speed capability whenever I'm at a WiFi hotspot. I couldn't justify the cost for 3G for the occasional times I'd want to access the internet. WiFi is a great compromise.

A Windows 7 botnet machine can probably use up the battery very quickly.
The pricing just doesn't seem competitive with Netflix. For $11 a month I usually get eight to ten blue-ray movies delivered to my mailbox, plus unlimited streaming.
Granted, $4 per viewing is better than $6 which the local cable company charges with their pay-per-view. But I've never used that either
