I've been running my own language popularity index for a few months now the results are very different to TIOBE. I didn't believe it myself and had to manually check to make sure. It seems if you look mostly at the number of job postings (people actually wanting to pay someone to use the language), Java is by a far the most popular (at this moment in time), with Python and Javascript in 2nd and 3rd. Popularity has shuffled a fair amount over the few months though. https://softwareengineer.live/... I would be very interested to get other's opinions and thoughts.
