Sounds great. While I block a few ranges from getting to my websites I have yet to find a reliable way to do this for my home computer and still be able to know that this is why .com isnt working. The ablitity to block some (most!) spam and garbage sites would be great but with no way to easily tell weather a site is down or im blocking it kinda cramps my style.

I think this would be more akin to prepaid phone cards. You know the ones the clerk has to swipe then type in the code before the card is actually activated? Instead of cracking disc checks and serial numbers crackers would just crack the activation method making the whole thing a waste of time. What I wanna to see is an 'Ask Slashdot' on how to stop (or even slow) videogame piracy. I think short of MMO's there is no one method that will thwart pirates.

New Republican party, an intolerant, far right party, dominated by evangelicals. A party pandering to the rich and manipulating a bunch of not so bright middle class supporters in to voting for them using abortion, homophobia and fear, manipulating not to bright middle class people in to voting for a party that is completely screwing them economically. Let's hope its finally over. Now we just have to worry about all the stupidity the Democrats will perpetrate when they are in control.

I agree.

Submission + - Prosecuters Send Pirate Bay a 4,000 Page Complaint (arstechnica.com)

I Don't Believe in Imaginary Property writes: "Swedish prosecutors appear to be close to finally pressing charges against the Pirate Bay, having served them with 4,000 pages of legal papers. While this might appear bad, the administrators have already moved some of the servers out of the country, so Swedish prosecutors can't shut it down, even if they want to. Moreover, the people of Sweden are decidedly on their side, with the Pirate Party, who is sympathetic to TPB's cause, being one of the top ten political parties in Sweden. Still, this looks like a dirty trick on the part of the prosecutors — they're dumping all of this on the defendants in the hope that they won't have enough time to sort through it and defend themselves. For comparison, the second-biggest murder case in Sweden required only 1,500 pages."
