Let's ban everything and anything related to human death caused by another human.

A game does not desensitize. Exposure, in general, desensitizes people. And even then does NOT create people who are easier and more likely to kill another person. If that were the case, the major cities would implode across the planet.

Banning games that have violence against humans is silly. They should address why these sell in the first place. They're not solving problems by banning games. They are just sweeping dirt under the carpet and ignoring the issue/problem. Games are not the problem. Violence is not the problem. The problem is the human condition, and we cannot ban that.

So from a business point of view, this may seem like a good idea to save taxes and instead convert that money into profits. This sucks for our economy since it's less money in the pool and instead is just aiding another country's economy instead of our own. So all their profits just become worth less and less as our american money gets worth less and less as other countries with all our business get more work. China already owns most of our country. And here we are putting even more of our assessts.

So yea, let's keep the jobs here.... damn their profits. Everyone loses when our economy keeps dropping as we simply bolster someone else's.

It's not like M$ just does as they please. The internet is not as <i>free</i> as people seem to think it is. A country can limit and control as much of those pipes as they want. Obviously not everyone gets on board with that. But M$ clearly doesn't want to step on toes and is playing ball with someone. Why else would they limit their search engine in a country like India where sex is far from taboo. But, whatever powers that be with money that M$ is trying to be in bed with have more say with M$ than something like Google. If they were going to limit things from the pipes, then everyone would be limited. But as it is, M$'s search engine is essentially a big `proxy' and it can draw things from other networks to them so naturally it's earier to just have the proxy prevent certain things, or in this case, M$. Google simply would rather get more searches to reveal more ads to make more money. So they don't block stuff. And that's how it should be frankly.<br>

Heya, It's their network. You're subject to their rules by contract. So you have to play ball, and give up everything, or you can seek alternatives. 1. If you're techy and have more than one machine, including even a simple laptop or some super old piece of junk for $5 from a yardsale, you can setup your own server with encryption. Make it so that it cannot send out. This prevents any of their `eyes' from reporting. Or use it to simply setup a proxy server of your own that is also encrypted, and access it from anywhere with internet access. 2. Run Linux, as others have mentioned, on one machine with access. Do as you please or need with it. And have that machine share it's network access over the network with another machine of yours. 3. Have a cellphone plan already? You can do something like what Sprint or Altel offer, or whatever is local to you or that you already use; and that is, get internet over your phone. Not land line. Through the cell. Especially good if you get that $100 a month everything kind of plan, since you already pay close to that for normal cell service with text plans anyways. This way you can connect via your phone, or any device that can be plugged into via an adapater or an insert to the computer or whatever. If you already have the phone service, for a bit more, you can grab unbridled internet. It may not be super speedy, but it's better than bending over to the school's network requirements. Very best,
