At the very small company where I work, I'm both sysadmin and office manager. I expect my boss and co-workers to pay about as much attention to SAD as they do to "Administrative Professionals' Day" - that is to say, zero. In both jobs, the better you do them, the less people notice you and what you do. There's a certain satisfaction to knowing you're the lynchpin of an operation, but (so I hear) it's nice to be appreciated by others as well.
