Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the destruction of Sodom was brought about just after the townspeople crowded around Lot's home and demanded to have sex with the angels therein.
It wasn't really anal sex per-se, but rather the lust for it. Of course, that was probably just the last straw.
Quite an image, that. The best part was when he offered his daughters in the angels' stead. The Old Testament is a real barrel of laughs, it is. A lot more wrestling, nudity and trickery than that weepy New Testament.
