It seems that there are a lot of people here that would like you to sit down and shut up. Take what you read here lightly cause it would seem that most people here dont want to help you find yourself but rather squeeze you into some "social reality" that they see as being normal. I understand how you feel as i see myself in the same light as you.

Let me tell you a little about myself and maybe you can learn something that will apply to your life. After highschool I got into the computer field as a systems admin for Mutual of Omaha. This was in the mid to late 90s so i bounced around a bit. I had an interest in the computer field but not enough to really focus on something while working for people who know very little about my job or who are jerks. In 1999 i started a trucking company that later became a demolition and concrete company. So i tried a little of my own management and treated my employees the way that I would have liked to be treated. Also i hand picked all of them as to keep the bad apples out the best i could. I ran my company for almost 5 years and never posted a loss. After I burnt myself out of the trucking business I went back to work for "the man" however that only lasted about 6 months. I did sales for Qwest Communications, but sales was never my thing. And all of this brings me back to working for my dad in the family business until I decide something else looks better. At 24 I bought my first house, never needed a roommate(although had a couple and hated it) and at 25 I bought a BMW M3, both will be paid off in the next 12-18 months.

I can tell you that you dont need to fit into some mold or work some crappy job and prove to anyone that you can trudge through any BS. The only one you need to prove anything to is yourself and let me tell you, that can be the most daunting task youll ever do. Unfortunately for me I didnt learn any real social skills untill I was nearly 25. Having all that responsability at that age kinda set me back but that wasnt part of your question so ill leave it at that.

Dont lose hope and always maintain patience. You'll need both, possibly more that most people. Obviously there is much more to my story than I can fit here and im sure people will read this and think "Damn that guy is cocky and needs to sit down and shut up" but oh well. Im getting the things I want out of life at a pace suitable to me. I still havent found what I would like to do for the rest of my life and I dont really care. All I can really say is that being like us doesnt make many things easier and what it does there are things equally hard to balance it out. As for making real money being like us, own a business or buy some realestate, maybe do both.
