Comment Arbiters of truth and virtue. (Score 1) 168

Anyone that think's it's a good idea letting activists and Facebook define what is "true" is an enemy to the freedom of information. Yes free speech includes speech you don't like. It includes speech you don't agree with. It INCLUDES speech you think is wrong.

There was a time the nerd community was all in for open information and freedom of speech. The solution to bad ideas is not to force them into the shadows, bad ideas need the light of day. Free speech should not be thrown away and top down control of what information you are "allowed to see" should not be accepted out of fear, or because you just don't like what other people are saying.
