The "ballistic trajectory" seems to be an euphemism for coming down like a rock.
A jet mechanic friend of mine is fond of the phrase "the glide-ratio of a rock".
It isn't easy being the parent of a six-year-old. However, it's a pretty small price to pay for having somebody around the house who understands computers.
