The best part about smart TVs is that they DO collect your data. This supplements the price of the TV and lets you get one for much cheaper. With the money you save you can buy a streaming device (Chromecase/AppleTV/Shield/etc), ideally using this device and never even connecting your TV to the network/wifi/internet. In the end you have a cheaper TV, and you have a platform that you choose (Apple/Roku/Google/etc), and your sharing less of your data.

I love going to the movie theater. I even used to subscribe to one of those clubs that let you see several movies a week for like $20 a month. I found that I wasn't interested in going to many of the movies that were playing. When Hollywood, or whomever is making movies these days, offer something worth going to see, I'm there.

Not only see all the transactions (this already happens on public blockchains) but reverse the bank could also change those transactions, or make some on your behalf. Also they could restrict anyone else from seeing those transactions but themselves. This explains why China is all about CBDCs and pushing forward with their own. There are already digital dollars out there, stable coins. They are (supposedly) backed up by real dollars. Why isn't the USA using these? My guess is it's in large part because they want the control a CBDC would give them. So yeah, stupid for everyone except the issuer of the CBDC.

The Ethereum upgrade should be happening in the next year (unless it gets postponed again, and if so no one will be surprised). Part of the upgrade will basically end all Ethereum mining with GPUs. With Ethereum being the most profitable GPU mined crypo currency, as well as the most common, it stands to reason that the demand for GPUs will drop significantly. In fact it seems as if this is already beginning to happen. And while there are cryptos one can mine with video cards, none are as profitable as Ethereum. Also, with the price of all cyrpto crashing has taken a toll on mining profitability, reducing GPU demand.
