That's exactly where I am - I'd gladly pay a little more for an American-made product, but there was never any chance I was going to buy a Nexus anything.

I have a nascent open source project, not software at all but something new, an open source fictional setting. The basic idea is that the elements of the setting (e.g. placenames) are open sourced, so you can write novels or make movies and use the setting as long as you allow others to do the same. For right now, there's only one setting: theonosis.com and I do not have an actual legal license written yet. I've been saving up to try and hire one.
