Not only that....US crime rate in general is much higher than Germany's. Since over a million of migrants came to Germany the overall crime rate declined. Some people just don't like facts and instead make stuff up to fit their arguments. As far as the Linux to Windows migration in Munich is concerned, it had nothing to do with Linux as such and more with lousy management. That was the main reason why the cost savings weren't as expected. Replacing OS is easier than fixing management, but it will not have the same impact.

Kavanaugh opposes everything a modern society is built on...and given his life expectancy he will ruin the US for the next 30 years or more. I know that the Senate has to approve, but with Senate Republicans folding like cheap tents it is clear how the vote will go. Thanks to everyone who voted for Trump for ruining all our lives! I hope you enjoy your unemployment due to the job cuts caused by Trump's trade war.

Depends on where you go. Germany for example has among the highest recycling quotes and many e-waste recyclers are run by training and employment centers of local governments. Excellent way to train folks to be electronics technicians and get a step into materials science. In that constellation profits are not the focus.

While gold and silver are targets, profit is made from reclaiming other metals such as copper and aluminium. CRTs have toxic materials in them, but they are also made with top grade glass that is not cheap. Does not make up for the expense of processing and properly disposing, but a concerted effort is needed. If recyclers don't take CRTs then they either end up in the regular trash or somewhere in the closest forest. Neither is a good option.

As far as mining goes, about a third of the world's copper is trapped in landfills. Eventually it will be economically feasible to mine the landfills.

So who gets the bulletproof desk from his office? It is sad that such a tax money waster wasn't fired long ago and instead we had to wait for him to resign. Now what about the many others who waste our money on a daily basis...like someone who travels almost every weekend to Florida with full security detail and has spent 1/3rd of his time in office on a golf course?

I use Let's Encrypt on a NoIP domain (DynDNS) without problems, but my site is rather low traffic.I consider myself to be technically somewhat versed, but each quarter it is a guessing game as to which file goes where on a stock Apachefriends install. Yea, I should write this down rather than complain about it. The point is that tech stack providers and cert agencies do not make it easy enough to add a cert to a server. It's 2018, give me a GUI front end that has one button: Obtain and apply Cert. I click it, select the desired provider, pass some information on, confirm that the site to certify is mine, and then have the files applied. Want people to use stuff, then make it easy to use. Router admin UIs should do that automatically and leave the option to direct to a different cert repository if the user desires. Sadly, many companies these days throw devices on networks and have no clue about networking or security.
