Yeah you get support. You get support from Loki Games since they are distributing it.
And they want to sell different boxes so they can know how much of a market there is for Linux games. If Quake3 sells well for Linux, we may see many more Linux games in the future. Also, they will not release binaries for converting between OSes until they release the first patch to the game.
