Velcroman1 writes: A manned mission to Mars would be the greatest adventure in the history of the human race. And one man knows how to make it a reality. In fact, he just wrote the book on it — literally. Joel Levine, senior research scientist with NASA's Langley Research Center and co-chair of NASA's Human Exploration of Mars Science Analysis Group, just published "The Human Mission to Mars: Colonizing the Red Planet." The book reads like a who's who of Mars mission science, featuring senators, astronauts, astrophysicists, geologists and more on getting to Mars, studying its atmosphere and climate, the psychological and medical effects on the crew and other details. There's even a section detailing the science of sex on Mars, should NASA attempt to create a permanent colony there. The most interesting bit: Levine presents a solution for funding the trip, something unprecedented for NASA: advertising. "The suggestion is marketing to different corporations and professional sports leagues for advertising, which is something NASA never does — it's a whole new economic plan for financing what has to be the greatest adventure in the history of the human race."

If I had Mod Points I'd mod you up. Today it's become so taboo to even hint that there are any differences between males and females that doing so social suicide. It's ridiculous. Perhaps we can subvert this by calling men testosterone and women estrogen.

No one really knows why the best estrogen players are typically not as good at chess as the testosterone players. One theory, common among some top testosterone players, is that testosterone usually induces more aggressive behavior by nature than estrogen, and is therefore the better suited hormone for a game that simulates warfare. This is true, and the exact same thing these "surveyors" were doing.

On a side note, how is the title of this slashdot summary any better than what Fox News does?

Note that I said that everything you do is genetic. Getting hit by a car is not something 'you do' (unless it was intentional), its something done to you. How that affects you is something you do.

And how you respond to these environments is purely genetic. The real question is what genetic determinations are more ductile to environmental influences.

Infidelity is despicable (obviously subjective), as it is deceit. Infidelity is being unfaithful- if your contract never included sexual exclusivity then not being exclusive isn't infidelity.
