On another note, I noticed the gene in question HMGA2 was previously linked to a person's height. I wonder if an extension of this study would consider any possible correlation between height and intelligence in regards to variations in this gene.

I hate to be a realist but how long will the consumer of these things actually last. My CFL bulbs promise me 10,000 hours and they certainly don't reach that. The bulbs (or LEDs) will be completely fine - it's the transformers we need to worry about.

As I didn't see the name of the bulb in the article I did a bit of web trawling and found out it is the Philips MyAmbiance LED bulb. I even found an old review of it online.
