Use whatever you want.. I use a compass and GPS. The compass is useful when you get somewhat close to point you in the correct direction.. Try it with just a compass & map and you will be disappointed. You will have better luck getting drunk in the woods and stumbling upon a hidden cache by chance while going to take a piss.. (this has apparently happened to two of the caches so far.. but they were in public parks)
