Dimming sunlight is an idiotic idea because it is not only about energy balance. It is also about entropy balance and by dimming sunlight we dimm low entropy energy thus reducing planet's ability to support highly entropic processes. With other words: by dimming sunlight we reduce Earth's ability to support life. A much better strategy would be to use sunlight to desalinate water and irrigate forests in arrid areas.
