i don't run a public bar or dance club or travel for dj'ing, but i have a full dj setup and dance environment in my basement with multiple projectors on 140" screens and lasers with mirror servos and smoke machines and moving lights... right now everything is controlled by custom interfaces i've made. it was pretty cheap and not that hard. most standards compliant solutions i've seen run many thousands of dollars... i don't see how they justify it. are there licensing fees for DMX or any of the other standards you've mentioned that would be built into the prices of any hardware that supported them?
