I had a problem with a local bank who illegally transfered over $5000 from my account. After writing numerous letters to the Banking Commission of my State, my accountant sent letters directly to my State and Federal representatives.
Within 2 weeks, I received copies of letters signed and sent by those representatives to both the bank, and the State Banking Commission. A week later, I had all my money back, plus all fees waived, and a personal apology from the bank president.
Bottom line -- our "democratic process" is warped, but writing letters asking for help WORKS. Keep it up!!
