Like most good American consumers, I have too much stuff already. In fact, I have so much stuff I can't find it when I need it: I will go to the hardware store or Homey Depo if I need a tool or a part for a project, instead of spending hours trying to find that bag of sheet metal screws or carbide saber-saw blade I bought 6 months ago. IF all these things were embedded with RFID tags, I could have a system- base on a "CDDB" type database and a hand scanner, or closet/drawer sensor network, so I could actually find and USE the stuff I already have. Now add an inventory database, so I can just check my computer to see what I've got.
Now put this online via P2P- call it "KaZebay" so everyone else can look at my stash, and if they need something I've got that I don't really need, they can make an offer... this could ultimately cause the end of the "big box" retail phenomenon.
Of course it would soon be outlawed...
