An even better point is that he isn't just using the money on himself. He could be sitting around his home, drinking beer, screwing women, and general living on Easy Street for the rest of his life, simply because he has that option. There certainly isn't anything wrong with that :), but it doesn't do the rest of SF any good, does it? This way, he is living out his dreams and doing good things along with it.
