Opera's UI, mail client, static page loading, etc. is pretty fast.
It's JavaScript performance was not, at least when I last used it around version 9.6.
It isn't easy being the parent of a six-year-old. However, it's a pretty small price to pay for having somebody around the house who understands computers.
