I've only been using android auto since it's existed. It's always been held to a strict standard of safety -- so much so that it can be annoying to developers. I updated my 2017 focus w/ a 2022 mustang firmware incl. maps etc and still... I would never use the OE head unit for anything navigation related unless I was desperate (broken phone? signal?)

It's 2025 and everything is about the experience so give me a jacked-up Vim in WSL with a custom Terminal shader any day...

for years their ppp dialer could execute commands as root and was repeatedly not fixed even when the changlogs would say it was fixed. no one cared because it was apple - those in the know didn't use it and apple users didn't know or care. apple security is all marketing and no substance.

Perusing the user groups of popular game releases, I've found a slew of Linux/Wine gamers (many handheld) that will seek support for their game directly from the company - obviously falling on deaf ears but if I looked up the same game on, say, winehq/appdb - no user feedback or community mods for those same games.

I suppose it's good to realize AI has mental health issues before we start using it in everything.

im pretty sure that drm hasnt prevented a warez release since. so all the pirates have perfectly working offline games and the legitimate owners have no rights to anything. valve really pushing the envelope but not a good one.

AFAIK, no one has been so phycho as to include AI-generated code without some sort of human review and edit.

So all you need to do is draw a seed image to include in the prompt with any influence more than ZERO to make the AI output copyright-able?

What did you expect? Countries all over the world have been "pledging" things for decades. Still 1.5mil child slaves in west africa for our benefit. Most cocoa can't be tracked to the source like other foods in an effort to protect the kidnappers and corporations. There's no enforcement so there's no incentive for the monsters in politics to stick up for children.
